About Data and Technology Hub
Data and Technology Hub (Hub) is a data, AI, and technology-driven social impact venture funded by Ballmer Group and operating as a fiscally sponsored project of TechSoup Global. Founded in Cambridge, MA in October 2025, the organization is leading a national strategy to equip place-based leaders with repeatable tools, shared infrastructure, and technical capacity to significantly expand their community impact. At its core, the Hub envisions a future where all communities have access to the data and technology capabilities needed to advance economic mobility, empowering partnerships to apply strong data practices and innovative solutions to local challenges.
Across the United States, where a child grows up continues to shape their access to education, employment, housing, and long-term opportunity. While cradle-to-career partnerships are working to create pathways to mobility, many lack the data tools, infrastructure, and analytical capacity to understand what is working and how to scale it. Data and Technology Hub addresses this gap by equipping community leaders with advanced data, technology, and AI capabilities - enabling them to measure outcomes, identify what drives results, and make informed, evidence-based decisions that direct resources toward interventions with the greatest impact.
As a founding executive, you will help build a national movement focused on developing technology that solves real community challenges. Working alongside a leading philanthropic partner, you will play a central role in shaping an ambitious, high-growth initiative designed to transform lives across urban and rural America. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, mission-driven builder energized by complexity, innovation, and the chance to create lasting, measurable impact.

A Transformational Leadership Opportunity
The Head of Community Impact is a founding leadership team member and one of the most critical roles in ensuring Data and Technology Hub achieves its impact goals - driving meaningful engagement and adoption across cradle to career (C2C) and place-based partnerships (PBPs). This is a rare opportunity to join the founding team of an early-stage, mission-driven data and AI venture funded by Ballmer Group and to shape how it shows up, builds trust, and drives impact nationwide.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this leader will shape how the Hub builds trust, activates communities, and translates its data, technology, and AI capabilities into real-world impact. In a commercial context, this role would most closely resemble a Chief Marketing Officer or Chief Experience Officer; however, at Data and Technology Hub, it is fundamentally a mission-driven leadership role focused on engagement, trust-building, and adoption - not traditional marketing. As the senior leader for community engagement and adoption, this individual will operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and field engagement - owning the brand end-to-end and shaping the organization’s narrative, digital presence, and field engagement efforts to build affinity, communicate value, and drive meaningful adoption.
Partnering closely with the CEO, the Head of Community Impact will help develop the organization’s website, content portfolio, and narrative identity while designing national programs, building partnerships, and directly engaging with communities across the country. They will also lead the Hub’s social media, SEO and GEO (generative optimization) strategy and execution. Serving as both a strategic leader and hands-on builder, they will act as a player-coach to a high-performing team - leading demand generation, field engagement, and national programming, and defining how the organization listens to, learns from, and collaborates with place-based leaders. Success in this role will be measured by the depth of community trust, strength of engagement, and sustained adoption of the Hub’s solutions nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Set Strategy and Drive Adoption: Define and execute a national community engagement and adoption strategy across place-based intermediaries, funders, and data leaders - ensuring strong awareness, activation, and sustained use of Data and Technology Hub solutions.
- Build and Lead a High-Impact Team: Recruit, mentor, and lead a small, high-caliber team of place-based technical consultants and storytellers. Establish clear operating rhythms, team structures, and priorities that enable focus and execution.
- Deliver on a strategic program Roadmap: Lead priority initiatives that translate vision into action, including:
- Field Engagement and Adoption: Build always-on demand generation through programs, convenings, content, and peer advocacy. Develop repeatable go-to-field approaches - from activation and onboarding to ongoing engagement - that drive long-term adoption.
- National Programs and Peer Networks: Design and lead high-impact national initiatives such as communities of practice, fellowships, showcases, and learning labs that accelerate peer learning and deepen engagement.
- Brand, Narrative & Digital Presence: Own and evolve the organization’s brand and digital platforms (website, content, social), translating field insights and outcomes into compelling narratives that build credibility and trust.
- Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and manage partnerships that expand reach, strengthen credibility, and increase adoption across the place-based ecosystem.
- Field Trust and Listening: Establish Data and Technology Hub as a trusted partner by building robust listening systems - advisory councils, feedback loops, and qualitative research - that ensure continuous learning and responsiveness to community needs.
