We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead a team in developing digital product solutions for Coforma's partners.

Coforma is seeking a Digital Product Manager who is comfortable working across policy, technology, and human-centered design. Product Managers at Coforma are the primary point of contact for business stakeholders and are responsible for driving a shared vision both within the team and across partners. They collaborate with partners in research, design, engineering, project management, and account management to deliver iterative value to both the user and the business.

In this role, you’ll own the product lifecycle from discovery to deployment. You’ll be a key voice on the project team, transforming high-level contract objectives into a roadmap that balances regulatory compliance with a seamless user experience.
 
This is a remote-first position. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience in digital product management in a cross-functional, agile environment. This is a customer-facing role that requires excellent communication, leadership, and technical product skills, as you will be working to translate the needs of users and the business into digital product features. To be successful in this role, you must have a deep understanding of the consulting mindset, user-centered prioritization, and the ability to build trust with a wide variety of stakeholders in a complex organization.

$96,900 to $124,266 Annual Salary + Benefits + Growth Potential
Placement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers:

  • Tier 1 - $96,900: Meets stated qualification and experience requirements. May need guidance and training beyond onboarding to perform the more complex functions of the role.
  • Tier 2 - $110,160: Experienced and fully competent. Will be able to independently perform key responsibilities of the role once onboarding is completed.
  • Tier 3 - $124,266: Highly experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.

To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.

 

This is a US-based remote position open to applicants in the states listed below. Some travel will be required.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Manage the backlog by writing user stories, clarifying complex business rules, and defining acceptance criteria, testing functionality, and shaping product decisions alongside the broader team.
  • Conduct acceptance testing to ensure all features meet defined business rules and acceptance criteria before deployment.
  • Partner with cross-functional product teams to define technical touchpoints and integration requirements, ensuring seamless delivery between platform services and user-facing applications.
  • Prioritize features based on a mix of regulatory requirements, user research, and technical feasibility within a Scaled Agile framework.
  • Present progress, metrics, and roadmaps to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee a cross-functional Scrum team (human-centered design, engineering, quality assurance), leading Program Increment (PI) planning and synchronization ceremonies to ensure high-velocity delivery.
  • Partner with engineering team members to embed security, accessibility considerations (Section 508, WCAG, etc.), and automation into the product.
  • Support Coforma’s expansion by contributing to proposals and participating in practice-wide improvements within the Product Management department.

 

In Your First 30 Days, You Will:

  • Complete new hire orientation training and meet with external counterparts and key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Engage in discovery with key federal partners, subcontracting leads, and internal cross-functional peers to understand their pain points and expectations.
  • Dive into the legacy system and current modernization roadmap and gain an understanding of the “why” behind previous architectural and policy decisions.
  • Review the current sprint and upcoming PI goals and start small by refining 2 to 3 high-priority user stories to understand the team’s definition of “Ready.”
  • Shadow a full sprint cycle to observe the team’s “norming and forming” dynamics and internalize Coforma’s delivery standards.

 

After 60 Days:

  • Become a quasi-expert on your product; norm and form with your project team, build relationships with key stakeholders, and start making technical product decisions.
  • Translate complex business requirements to build a backlog and a clear technical roadmap that the engineering team can execute.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement and contribute to PI planning (at this point you will be the “voice of the product” in ceremonies).

 

After 90 Days:

  • Move beyond the current backlog to refine the long-term product vision, ensuring the product effort continues to stay ahead.
  • Assume full responsibility and accountability for all functions and expected outcomes associated with this role.

 

Who You Are and What You Know (Knowledge and Experience Requirements):

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a digital Product Manager or Product Owner working within agile teams to define and prioritize product features and capabilities
  • 3+ years of experience specifically leading product and/or platform modernization efforts or large-scale digital transformations
  • Ability to successfully navigate between high-level policy goals and granular technical specifications such as APIs, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of iterative delivery in highly regulated, multi-vendor environments
  • Ability to communicate with and influence both technical teams and non-technical policy stakeholders
  • Full-time resident of the contiguous United States (must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship)
  • Ability to pass a Public Trust background check (additional security clearance may be required based on project needs)

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working in federal domains, healthcare products, or large-scale government systems
  • Experience leading multiple teams within SAFe or similar frameworks
  • Experience leveraging AI in your own work as well as integrating AI/ML capabilities into the digital products you own
  • Knowledge and understanding of WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 standards and requirements
  • Strong people management skills as a peer team leader or mentor
  • Prior experience in a client-facing consulting or government contracting role

  • Internet: Will prioritize and maintain access to strong, reliable internet for the remote nature of our work, except when on vacation or holiday.
