Do you want to design and maintain databases that help transform social service agencies’ case management data into valuable information?
Evident Change seeks a senior database administrator (DBA) to join our team in leading the development of database software. The senior DBA is responsible for innovating processes to create and support the databases needed to advance Evident Change’s business needs.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Get ready to:
- Collaborate with the DBA ops lead in providing leadership to the DBA team to research solutions, delegate tasks to DBAs, review outcomes, troubleshoot issues, and actively participate in or lead team discussions.
- Investigate escalated issues, troubleshoot database and API problems, and collaborate with technical staff to develop innovative, efficient solutions.
- Design and maintain database connections, ETL/ELT pipelines, and SQL workflows to support application backends and client deliverables.
- Implement backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions while monitoring system health and recommending performance improvements.
- Ensure secure handling of PHI/PII, enforce SOC audit controls, manage database security practices, and collaborate with IT on cybersecurity configurations.
- Provide database access and tools, deploy and review production code changes, communicate issues to project management, and coordinate with clients on database updates and data transfers.
OUR COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT OFFERINGS
The national average salary for this position ranges between $97,750 and $103,000 per year. Compensation within this range is dependent on experience, parity with peers, and where an employee lives.

WHO SHOULD APPLY TO EVIDENT CHANGE?
Applicants who meet these essential qualifications will be considered a candidate for this role:
- Proficiency with object oriented programming.
- Advanced knowledge of relational database management system (RDBMS) concepts such as execution plans, disk/memory/network IO interoperability, indexing, and versioning/lock escalation.
- Experience with automation tools to connect and migrate data between different database and storage formats, preferably Azure Data Factory.
- Proficiency with any flavor of SQL.
- Proficiency with ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with secure data communication principles such as SSH/FTP, FTP/TLS, encryption certificates, and/or SSH keypairs.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology, computer science, math, or science, or equivalent relevant professional work and five or more years of experience.
Candidates with cloud development experience are preferred.
