Implementation Project Manager Role at a Mission-Driven Tribal Government Software Company
Intertribal Software · Remote
Intertribal Software is seeking an Implementation Project Manager to take ownership of delivering our OneTribe® and Laserfiche solutions to Tribal Nation government clients—from pre-sales scoping through requirements gathering, kick-off, configuration, testing, training, and go-live. This is a hands-on role: you've run client-facing software implementations before and are ready to learn the intricacies of our software suite, engage with our clientele, and bring your own discipline and processes to how we deliver. As Intertribal grows, this role strengthens our ability to deliver implementations on time and on a predictable path to adoption—the kind of experience that earns lasting partnerships with Tribal Nations.
The implementations you will own span OneTribe®, our modular software suite—including Enrollment, Housing, Child and Family Services, Social Services, and more—alongside Laserfiche Enterprise Content Management. Across these modules, you'll tailor each implementation to how a department works and carry it through to confident, everyday use.
This role reports to the Chief of Staff and works alongside peer Project Managers and members of our Professional Services team. You will collaborate closely with our engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to each Tribe’s values, culture, and operational goals. You will cultivate and steward strong relationships with Tribal stakeholders while helping shape our delivery best practices in partnership with the team. Strong organizational, communication, and risk-management skills are essential, along with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable project plans. This role is remote, with company-supported travel roughly 2–3 times per quarter for all-staff meetings, industry conferences, and implementation-related visits to Tribal customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
Implementation and Project Delivery
- Own the full implementation lifecycle for your portfolio of OneTribe® and Laserfiche projects, from pre-sales scoping and the handoff from Sales through kick-off, go-live, and close-out
- Serve as the primary, trusted point of contact for Tribal department staff, directors, and leadership throughout each project
- Gather and interpret client requirements; define, build, and maintain project scope, plans, objectives, and timelines; and document them in clear Statements of Work (SOWs) in collaboration with the Sales team
- Translate how each Tribal department operates into working software, configuring OneTribe® to fit client needs and ensure adoption
- On Laserfiche projects, design forms, autofilers, and automated workflows that are within scope and support clients' document processes
- Coordinate installation and data migration in partnership with the Development team
- Validate each configuration through testing with the client ahead of go-live
- Deliver project-critical and specialized trainings that are central to a successful implementation and follow up after training to confirm adoption
- Manage scope, sequencing, dependencies, and stakeholders across multiple concurrent implementations; drive each project to completion on a predictable timeline, clearing blockers early and keeping clients and leadership informed of status
- Actively utilize Monday.com to manage projects and track status from kick-off through close-out
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Operations
- Partner with Sales throughout the pre-sales process — scoping engagements, validating stakeholders, and shaping SOWs — then own a clean transition into delivery
- Partner with Development on scoping, the development roadmap, and sprint priorities for project-critical work
- Transition each customer to the Support team at close-out, and complete customer-success follow-up to confirm adoption and capture any further needs
- Recognize when client needs extend beyond the current project scope, and coordinate with Sales to define and resource them as separate engagements
- Maintain accurate records across our project management, CRM, and billing systems, including professional services deals
Candidate Profile
Professional Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience working directly with clients on software implementations, project management, or business analysis
- Proven track record of owning a portfolio of software implementations end-to-end, with evidence of successful client adoption and on-time delivery
- Demonstrated ability to translate client business processes into software configuration—and the judgment to know when to adapt the software versus guide the client to adapt their process
- Strong technical aptitude—comfort configuring software, working with data migrations, and learning new platforms quickly, with the ability to bridge business needs and technical requirements alongside the Development team
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and a focus on delivering a high-quality customer experience—with the patience, cultural sensitivity, and long-term trust that durable relationships with Tribal clients require
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent Intertribal credibly in front of Tribal departments, Tribal leadership, and Tribal Councils
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities

- Experience implementing complex or configurable software for Tribal Nations or other government clients
- Familiarity with Tribal governance, Tribal departmental operations, and relationship dynamics
- PMP, CAPM, or a comparable project management certification (a plus, not required)
Personal Characteristics
- Self-starter who operates autonomously, prioritizes effectively, and delivers in a fast-moving environment
- Intellectually curious, with a builder's mindset that treats the unfamiliar as an opportunity rather than an obstacle

- Adaptable and aware of cultural sensitivities, with the patience to treat each Tribe as unique
- Mission-driven, energized by long-term partnerships with Tribal communities, and able to have fun alongside the team

- 401(k): 4% employer match
- Healthcare: Medical coverage with 50% employer-paid premiums
- Additional coverage: Discounted vision, dental, life, and pet insurance available
- Unlimited paid time off (required 2 weeks per year)
- Remote-first with company-supported travel to Tribal Nations, conferences, and team gatherings
