January Advisors helps nonprofits, foundations, and governments use data to make better decisions and tell stories that matter. We’re hiring a marketing and community manager to grow our reach and build a community around the work.

In this role, you’ll run our marketing program: content, virtual events, social, and community. You turn the work we do into stories that reach the people who need them.

The specifics of the job include:

  • Run (mostly virtual) events. This includes webinars and curated Zoom discussions with our network. You own the calendar, promotion, hosting, and follow-up. In-person events are rare, and are typically limited to our annual company retreat.
  • Promote case studies. We are already producing great examples of our work. Take the case studies we ship and get them in front of the funders, partners, and peers who should see them.
  • Run our LinkedIn presence, which is the one social channel we actually invest in. Plan, produce, and publish quality content and grow our reach.
  • Build communities of practice. We work across various domains that exist in silos, but we provide a common thread of data. Curate discussions and ways for our clients to connect and learn from one another.
  • Run our proposal workflow. Learn about the various projects we take on through proposal writing, which is a light and mostly automated task that involves editing, proofreading, and pressure testing.
  • Manage the editorial calendar. Our marketing pipeline includes a monthly email newsletter, blog production by various staff members, and refactoring content as needed for distribution.
  • Report marketing metrics. Report on reach, engagement, and pipeline, among other things.

We are looking for someone with:

  • 3+ years in marketing across content, social, and events.
  • Social media experience running channels for small businesses or nonprofits.
  • Event experience. Virtual, in-person, or both.
  • Strong writing and an eye for a story.
  • Organized and self-directed.
  • It’s a plus if you have civic tech, nonprofit, foundation, or government experience.

This position includes:

  • Base compensation of $75,000 + a bonus at 90 days + annual bonus
  • Benefits including health insurance and 401(k) match
  • 35 hour workweek
  • 3+ weeks of PTO

This is a full time, remote position.
